Word Of Mouth Advertising

Best Advertising In The World

Good old word of mouth advertising is still the best advertisement any business can generate even in this day of hi technology.  Literally billions of pounds are spent by the huge corporations getting brands established in the public eye.  Yet when all is said and done, a simple recommendation from a good friend or acquaintance will count for far more than any glitzy advertising campaign ever will.

Put simply, word of mouth advertising is the most powerful advertising medium any business can harness.  In a world full of advertising noise and hype we become quite immune to the continual bombardment of the senses by the big spending companies and mostly ignore the message they are delivering.  This is why so much money is thrown at advertising by all business just to get themselves heard.

Dotcom Collapses

Did you know a full 80 to 90 percent of many company start up budgets are directed into advertising.  Spectacular failures have been witnessed in recent times as many of the modern Dotcom companies have failed to live up to the hype and glamour projected by the advertising agencies.  Often the collapse occurred after many millions of unwitting shareholders money was wasted.

So perhaps you may realise why companies like ONE Group and other Network Companies prefer to market their products using a cost effective method like word of mouth.  I will briefly give you some idea of where the money comes from to finance this approach.

Conventional System

In a conventional system of manufacturing and retailing the company produces the product for a known figure.  Say the company is a vehicle manufacturer and a car they sell through a dealer is sold for (not worth) £10,000.  The manufacturer of that car would produce it for around £4,000 net cost which would include them making a profit from the car when sold to a dealer.

However this is just the start of the costs.  To establish a strong position in the market place they then allocate perhaps 50% of the cost of manufacturing the car to advertising.  So they have to make £6000 to break even.  On top of this they also have many hidden costs of running and maintaining expensive machinery and research and development projects.

This is all before the car even leaves the factory floor.  So by the time the car is shipped to a dealer the actual price has been increased by a staggering 100 percent.  Then to top it all off, the dealer does his advertising so he can compete with all the other dealers vying for the customer.  In all, 60 percent or more of the retail price of a car can be eaten up in the distribution and marketing costs.

So how much does a network company spend on advertising?

Answer: NOTHING

If you apply the example above to any manufacturer you will find a minimum of 60% and often more like 85% or even 90% of the customer price is made up of overheads the network companies have done away with.  I will give you an example of extreme mark up and profiteering.  How much do you think a can of Coke would cost to manufacture?  If you answered 5p or less you are close to the mark. It is somewhere under 5p to produce.  Yet that same can of coke after everyone has had a slice of the profits is sold to the public for about a pound.  Now if someone tells someone else about this "great drink" do they get paid for it?  Not in your life!!!  The advertising agencies account for a great slice of the profit and the retailer makes the rest.

Most Effective

Word of mouth advertising is so effective that network companies realised long ago that the best way to market any product that required more than a cursory inspection due to its unique properties, was to pay people to tell others about it.  Hence we are in the fortunate position of belonging to a company that makes a large percentage of their wholesale turnover available to us, that is the people who tell their friends relatives and acquaintances about ONE Group's life enhancing products.

Be proud to be a ONE Group Distributor!

This is where you can become a major cog in the "Word of Mouth" advertising machine.  I find the best way is to be enthusiastic about the products and always be ready to tell others about the benefits they bring. After all Certified Organic and 100% chemical free is a powerful message to spread. Of course you can't do this if you aren't using the products yourself! Be proud to be associated with such a marvellous company supplying such effective natural pure products and the great opportunity!  The first people you must tell are the people who are closest to you. Invite them to take a look at your website www.username.mionegroup.com  Next time you see them, ask them what they thought about the site. Do this in a few days time.  You will get their attention once they have taken the time to have a good look through the website. Always have copies of testimonials about the products and appropriate CDs to give to people.

This is important because it is not just you telling your friend or relative about the benefits.  You have involved a third party via the testimonial or through the CD.  It is no longer just YOUR word about organics and the harm chemicals may be doing.  This is the most powerful method you can instigate to introduce people you know to the ONE opportunity.

Make a List

The very first thing you need to do is to sit down and make a list of everyone you know and systematically work through the list.  Break the list into two parts.

Now these people you know well, are the most likely people to join you in your business.  If you are impressed with the company the products and the philosophy of the business, this will show through to your friends and relatives.  Approach all these people first to give them the same opportunity.  If you don't, they could be quite upset when they see you making a comfortable living from ONE Group in a year or two.  Worse still someone else may show them the products and the opportunity and you have missed out on a potentially good customer or Rep in your business.

Once you have a conversation going, then it is really easy to introduce a topical subject like cancer or anything to do with health. People love talking about their own health. As long as you don't have an agenda every time you meet someone it will come naturally to you. If they are interested you can give them your card with your domain name on it so they can visit your website supplied by ONE Group.

Often people simply forget to visit the site.  Next time you see them ask them politely what they thought of it. If they haven't seen the site then talking to you again will remind them to make the effort. Networking is about building relationships not alienating people so try to keep encounters friendly and non intrusive. People hate to think they are being sold anything. If you don't see them again it really doesn't matter as business cards have a habit of lying around and not being thrown out.  Sooner or later someone may see the card and be interested in the products.

Most people can easily assemble a list of 300 to 400 names.  Many of us know a thousand or more people by name and sight.  So think carefully when making your list.  Use a memory jogger to remind you.

I hope this gives you some idea of how powerful word of mouth advertising can be.  If you go about this in the right way and you teach it to your team, you may well find you obtain all your key people directly from your own circle of warm contacts and never have to advertise any other way.  It is very important for you to use this method to start with.  If you ignore your warm market then this is what your downline will do too and you are missing out on a vast untapped potential.

Have a look at what happens even if you only find one person per month and you have taught your downline to do the same.  The Power Of One
