1. Do StemTech products contain stem cells?
StemTech's'
products DO NOT contain stem cells of any kind and are not associated with
embryonic stem cells.
2. What do StemTech products do?
StemTech's products support the natural release and activity of adult stem
cells in the body. Back to Top
3. What role do adult stem cells play in the body?
The US National Institutes of Health states that the role of adult stem
cells in the body is that of tissue maintenance and repair.

4. What is the benefit of taking SE2™?
SE2 supports the natural release of your own adult stem cells from the bone
marrow into circulation. Many scientific studies have shown that a greater
number of circulating adult stem cells equates to a greater quality of
health.

6. What is StemEnhance SE2 made from and how is it different than just wholeAphanizomenon
flos-aquae?
Our new Advanced Formula contains StemRelease™ Complex,
a patent-pending blend of proprietary nutrient-dense concentrates ofAphanizomenon
flos-aquae (AFA
Concentrate)… PLUS three ingredients now discovered to work in partnership
with AFA Concentrate to support a more significant increase in
the release of
adult stem cells:
Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA Concentrate) is
documented to support the natural release of adult stem cells from bone
marrow.
Undaria pinnatifida is
a marine alga from pristine ocean environments around the world well known
to support the immune system. Fucoidan from Undaria Pinnatifida has been
documented to support a long-lasting increase in the number of circulating
stem cells.
Polygonum multiflorum extract is
an herb with a long history of use to support health and rejuvenation. An
extract of Polygonum multiflorum was recently documented to support the
release of stem cells from the bone marrow.
Cordyceps sinensis is
a mushroom that has been associated with stamina and longevity, and a wide
variety of health benefits. When used with AFA Concentrate, fucoidan from
Undaria pinnatifida and Polygonum multiflorum extract, it has been
documented to synergistically support stem cell release.

9. What is the science
behind SE2?
In the process of developing StemEnhance® a
decade
ago, we developed protocols and methods to quantify stem cells and assess
the effect of natural compounds on stem cells. After developing StemEnhance,
we looked for other natural products known throughout history to bring a
broad variety of health benefits, and we studied their effect on stem cells.
We found two such products: Undaria
pinnatifida and Polygonum
multiflorum.
With StemEnhance we had a significant increase in the number of circulating
stem cells, peaking at 60 minutes and then slowly going back to baseline
levels. We always talked about the maximum number of stem cells at 60
minutes, but in fact a better way to quantify the effect is to calculate the
area under the curve, which gives a measure of the total number of stem
cells that have been released. With Undaria
pinnatifida,
we have a slower increase in the number of circulating stem cells but the
effect lasts much longer. The maximum peak number of circulating stem cells
is comparable to StemEnhance, but because of the longer lasting effect, the
total number of stem cells released is increased (by about 50% compared to
StemEnhance alone). Polygonum
multiflorum alone
has an effect comparable to StemEnhance, with a significant increase peaking
around 60 minutes.
However, when we blend all three together, we obtain a significantly
stronger effect that also lasts much longer than with StemEnhance alone.
The effect peaks at 60 minutes but after 3 hours the number of circulating
stem cell remains significantly above baseline levels. We discovered that
adding Cordyceps sinensis also further enhanced the effect of this blend.

10. How was the scientific testing done?
In a double-blind crossover study, participants were fed on the same day of
the week for several weeks: placebo, AFA Concentrate, Undaria
pinnatifida,
or Polygonum
multiflorum,
and then a blend of these various ingredients. The effect of Polygonum
multiflorum was
comparable to the effect of AFA Concentrate with maximum increase in the
number of circulating stem cells at 60 minutes. The effect ofUndaria
pinnatifida also
reached a similar peak however the increase was slower and lasted much
longer than AFA concentrate. When blended together, the ingredients led to a
significantly higher increase when compared to the isolated ingredients and
lasted more than 3 hours.

11. Can adult stem cells
lead to abnormal cells such as cancer?
Unlike embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells released from the bone marrow
have not been found to lead to abnormal cell growth.
A study using StemEnhance (100% AFA Concentrate) was published in a
scientific journal, Anticancer Research, in January 2009, and provides
additional information about this subject. Visit:

12. Is SE2 approved by
the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)?
SE2 is a dietary supplement, not a drug, and is not intended to treat, cure
or prevent illness or disease. Its benefits have therefore not been
evaluated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). However, the FDA
does regulate the labeling and safety of the dietary supplements, such as
SE2. SE2 is manufactured in a licensed, FDA-inspected facility in accordance
with Good Manufacturing Practices.

13. Why does the SE2
label state “consult your
physician if you are pregnant or nursing”? What
if I get pregnant while I am taking SE2?
Many products carry such warnings out of caution rather than any known
pregnancy risk. StemTech is not aware of any evidence that consuming SE2
during pregnancy will create a health risk.

14. Can SE2 be taken with
other nutrients?
Yes. There are no known nutrient–nutrient interactions with SE2
Back to Top
15. Can SE2 be taken with
other StemTech adult stem cell nutrition products?
Yes, StemTech's products are for complete adult stem cell support.
SE2 supports the release of adult stem cells from the bone marrow.
StemFlo® supports
the circulation of adult stem cells, nutrients and oxygen in the
bloodstream.
ST-5 with MigraStem™ supports
the ability of adult stem cells to get into (migrate into) the tissues.

16. Why does the label
say that people taking anticoagulants should consult their physician prior
to taking SE2, and what information does their physician need?
The statement on the label pertains to the anticoagulant medication called
Coumadin™ or
warfarin. People taking warfarin are typically advised by their prescribing
physician to pay attention to the amount of vitamin K in their diet. Like
many green foods, SE2 contains naturally occurring vitamin K.
The US Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of vitamin K is 80 mcgs. Two
capsules of SE2 have approximately 21 mcgs of vitamin K. For further
reference, half a cup of raw chopped broccoli has roughly 100 mcg of vitamin
K and half a cup of boiled spinach has about 540 mcg of vitamin K.

17. Can SE2 be taken with
medications?
As for medications other than anticoagulants (see
FAQ #16)
for information on anticoagulant medications), there are no known
contraindications associated with taking SE2. However, there is a
theoretical possibility of an interaction with anti-depressant medications.
This is because SE2 contains a naturally occurring nutrient known as
phenylethylamine (PEA) as do some other naturally occurring foods like
chocolate. PEA is a natural compound made by the brain whenever one feels
content and happy; it has been described as “the molecule of love.”
Consumption of PEA has been documented to support mood. Interactions with
antidepressant medications have not been reported, but it is a theoretical
consideration and people should consult their healthcare practitioner.

18. Can someone being
treated by a health care practitioner with health conditions take SE2?
As with any dietary supplement, it is recommended that you consult with your
physician prior to using SE2 if you are being treated by a health care
practitioner or taking medications of any kind. We suggest that you make
information like these FAQ’s available to your health care practitioner, so
they can make an educated decision. There are no known risks resulting from
the use of SE2.
Due to the naturally occurring nutrient PEA (phenylethylamine) in SE2, there
is a theoretical possibility that it may be contraindicated in people with
mania or bipolar disorder though this is not based on any known ill effect
(see
FAQ above)
regarding the benefits of PEA.
There is also a theoretical possibility that SE2 may be contraindicated in
people having a disease of the bone marrow, though this is not based on any
known ill effect. Although there are no known ill effects, it is recommended
that people with these conditions consult their health care practitioner
prior to taking SE2.
